How do you want things to feel different moving forward?
Start by meeting yourself exactly where you are.
Then:
→ Do a little better than you did yesterday.
→ Step off the diet merry-go-round.
→ Say goodbye to unrealistic, overly restrictive plans.
→ Stop waking up feeling defeated about what you ate the night before.
Start choosing plans you can actually stick with.
Plan realistically.
Be kind to your future self—tomorrow, next Friday, next month.
No more eating behind your own back.
No more breaking commitments to yourself when you’d never do that to someone else.
Only commit to what you can follow through on with 100% confidence.
Start small. Build momentum. Let that build your self-trust.
You don’t need your husband, the scale, or sunny weather to motivate you.
Learn to create motivation with your mind, through your thoughts.
When your self-belief is low, shift into nurturer mode.
Be kind to yourself. Love yourself.
Then take your next step from that place.
Because guilt, shame, and self-punishment rarely produce meaningful results.
Some days will feel hard. That’s life.
Let it be hard.
Feel what you’re feeling.
Don’t rush to bury it or numb it with food (or wine, or scrolling, or busyness).
It’s just a sensation in your body. Maybe uncomfortable, but not dangerous.
Practice sitting with it.
Allow it.
Don’t reward the urge to escape.
Hold your long-term vision close.
Don’t sacrifice what you ultimately want for what feels easy in the moment.
What you do on a Friday night, next week, or during an ordinary Tuesday afternoon—it all counts.
No, one indulgent weekend or a few extra sweets won’t ruin everything.
However, if you keep “starting fresh” every Monday, you slowly erode your self-trust.
Imagine how good it would feel to wake up in a few weeks knowing:
“I didn’t start over. I kept going.”
You can feel that way.
You deserve to feel that way.
But it requires a decision:
Choose what you want most more often than what feels comfortable in the moment.
Let go of the “on track” / “off track” mindset.
Make your diet ONE track.
(And yes, that includes “imperfect” eating.)
This is how you build real momentum with your eating habits.
P.S.
If you’re done spinning your wheels, thinking about food way too much, and waking up feeling defeated, let’s change that.
